The Client
Founded in 1953, Wilkinson Heavy Precast manufactures and delivers precast concrete tanks for water storage and treatment systems. The Wilkinson name has become the preferred brand in the industry, especially when it comes to large tanks.
Their 20 acres location in Dundas, Ontario features a computer controlled concrete batch plant that allows them to produce 40 cubic metres of consistent quality concrete per hour. Combined with their experience, quality of workmanship and thorough understanding of the client’s requirements, their state-of-the-art technology makes Wilkinson Heavy Precast an industry leader.
The Challenge
Wilkinson Heavy Precast asked us to re-develop their website to:
- improve client access to product information
- better reflect their tradition of quality
In order to achieve these primary objectives, their website needed to:
- provide efficient navigation and easy-to-use search tools for product information
- allow their clients to send requests for quotes or information from the website
- accurately reflect their brand
The Solution
We developed a new website around an on-line product catalogue, featuring:
- Professionally designed graphic layout to enforce their brand
- Restructured website navigation for better usability
- WebBridge content management system
- Specialized catalogue module with files manager for downloadable product specifications
- Specialized news module with scrolling headlines “ticker”
The Results
After the website relaunch:
- The number of phone and fax inquiries decreased, more and more clients preferring the self-serve option offered by the on-line catalogue
- The clients started to use the on-line request for quote tool, especially for sending inquiries outside the regular business hours.
